We are seeing some movement in the electric car market, which has so far been dominated by large and expensive vehicles. Journalists from the Motor1 portal captured the Hyundai Casper model on the German road. In Korea and India, it comes with a three-cylinder 1-litre internal combustion engine; in Europe, it is to be all-electric. The car will compete in the small city car segment, its direct competitor being the Fiat 500e.
The new Hyundai Casper: price, specifications and everything we expect
Let’s start with the price: the Hyundai Casper is expected to cost the equivalent of 20 000 euros. For comparison: Toyota Aygo X costs from €18,595 in the Netherlands.
At 3.6 metres long, the Hyundai Casper is a small city car, shorter even than the Fiat 500e. Photos of the combustion variant show a rather short bonnet and a tall body measuring 1.57 metres. The traditional engine variant is offered in South Korea and India, the electric variant is being tested in Germany, so it will probably appear on the Old Continent. In photos from Europe, we can see that the model is accompanied by the Fiat 500e and the Volkswagen Up, journalists of the InsideEVs website claim that it is the e-Up.

The Hyundai Motor Group is gearing up to launch low-cost and small electric cars, we were made aware at the launch of the new Kia Picanto. There is already a Kia Ray in South Korea, but in our market, batteries with a capacity of a dozen kilowatt hours would not be very tempting. Acceptable values for city models are around 30 kWh. The Hyundai Casper should make its European debut in 2025.
