A program called Solarstrom fuer Elektroautos (pol. Electricity from the sun for electric cars; source) will be launched in Germany on September 26, under which it is possible to receive up to 10,200 euros (equivalent to 47,500 zlotys) in subsidies for setting up a photovoltaic-powered charging point. The subsidy can be used to buy both a wall-mounted charging station, as well as a photovoltaic installation with a capacity of at least 5 kWp or energy storage with a capacity of at least 5 kWh.
Germany supports individual initiative
The German government has already noted that photovoltaic installations solve the problem of peak loads in summer, when the sun shines hard. Now it wants to help owners of electrics charge them with the cleanest possible electricity, without putting a strain on the electricity infrastructure. A grant of up to €10,200 can be spent on both the purchase of a kit: a charging point with a capacity of at least 11 kW, the purchase and installation of photovoltaics, energy storage, and the connection of all the system components into a whole, including the system that will manage them. The condition is to own or order an electric car.
The support only applies to BEVs, even if they are leased, but with a contract of at least 12 months. The money can be spent in any residential building that already exists, in which the beneficiary lives and which belongs to him.
The maximum amount of €10,200 has several components: 600 euros can be received for a charging point. If it is bi-directional, the subsidy increases twice, to €1,200. For photovoltaics, 600 euros in subsidies are available for each 1 kWp of power installed, with a maximum of 6,000 euros. For energy storage, you can receive 250 euros in subsidies for each 1 kWh of usable capacity, up to a maximum of 3,000 euros, equivalent to 12 kWh of capacity.
The program is scheduled to begin on September 26.
