Hacker Green found mention of two types of Tesla Model 3 Highland interior in the new Tesla software: the Base and the Sport. The Sport has slightly differently shaped front seats, with bolstered side support and headrest. It looks like the Sport interior will make its way into the new Tesla Model 3 Highland Performance, which, by the way, may be renamed Model 3 /Highland/ Ludicrous.
Tesla Model 3 Highland Performance – rumours etc.
Green pointed out the more pronounced sides and the normal headrest in the centre back seat. In the Tesla Model 3 Highland, it is integrated into the backrest, but visible. It can be folded together with a section of the backrest and thus act as an armrest. In the older Tesla Model 3, the headrest is retractable in the backrest – it may or may not be unfolded.
The Kilowatts account on X, which has been keeping a close eye on the parts catalogue of the new Tesla Model 3 Highland, noticed a few days ago that the Tesla Model 3 Highland Performance may have a Plaid (i.e. woollen blanket pattern) badge above the DUAL MOTOR lettering. Initially it was thought that the Tesla Model 3 Performance would start to be depicted as a Tesla Model 3 Plaid, but eventually it was thought that it might instead be a Tesla Model 3 Ludicrous.
So far, the Tesla Model 3 Performance has had DUAL MOTOR lettering highlighted by a red line.
The car will have sports brakes, suspension and new rims. It is not in the configurator for now, nor has it been certified by China’s MIIT. The car will not debut until the last quarter of 2023 at the earliest, although there is speculation that we won’t see it until Q1 2024. Tesla reportedly wants to handle orders for the Model 3 Highland first, it is said to be “just getting ready” to produce a refreshed Performance variant [speculation].
